When we receive your call we will gather a few key pieces of information about your gearbox, establish your urgency, then dispatch technicians to troubleshoot and evaluate the condition of your gearbox system.  Kiemle-Hankins offers true 24x7x365 emergency service for customer operations that won’t allow downtime.  Once on-site we will perform an initial inspection, and if the system is running we’ll use state of the art equipment to analyze vibration, imbalance, misalignment and thermal characteristics.  We’ll also perform a visual inspection of each gear in the gear set whenever possible.  We’ll discuss resources such as spare gear sets and make a recommendation to your maintenance staff on how to best move forward.

With lifting capacity to 70,000 pounds, precision balancing to 25,000 pounds, run testing and load testing, Kiemle-Hankins is equipped to provide world class service on your largest gearboxes.  Unless your needs dictate otherwise, gearboxes and gear sets that are sent to a Kiemle-Hankins facility for service will undergo our in-depth inspection process.  This inspection will document every detail to ensure your repaired gearbox meets or exceeds OEM specifications. Each gear, pinion, and shaft will be deep cleaned, visually inspected and photographed to record any wear and damage.  Run outs and precision measurements of all critical fits and gear positions will be recorded. A thorough magnetic particle inspection of each gear tooth and shaft surface will be made. We conduct hardness testing to ensure your gearset meets AGMA recommended service factor requirements based upon your application. You are always welcome to come and visit our facilities to see your equipment go through the repair process at any time!
